The Smart Way Bus is the regional public transportation service operated by Valley Metro. It links the Roanoke Valley and the New River Valley for a fare of only $4.00, each way.

Paratransit Services

S.T.A.R.(Specialized Transit - Arranged Rides) is a service of Valley Metro that is operated by RADAR, to provide transportation to individuals with disabilities who are unable to ride a Valley Metro bus.
The Star Line Trolley

The Star Line Trolley is Valley Metro's newest transportation service. The Star Line provides free, convenient transportation to retail businesses, schools, libraries, restaurants, and lodging along Jefferson Street between Downtown Roanoke and Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Lost and Found
If you find any item on a bus, please turn it in to the operator. All items left on the buses are turned in at the end of the day and kept for 60 days at the Valley Metro Customer Service Center at 307 Salem Avenue S.W.
