Disadvantaged Business Enterprises Program
Public Notice
The Greater Roanoke Transit Company (GRTC) hereby announces its annual goals for procurement from Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) for FY 2011, FY2012 and FY 2013 will remain at 5 percent. The rationale for this goal and supporting information are available for public inspection during normal business hours at GRTC’s Administration Facility located at 1108 Campbell Avenue S.E., Roanoke, Virginia 24013 for thirty days from publication of this notice. GRTC and the Department of Transportation will accept comments on the goal for forty-five days. Comments should be sent to the above address to the attention of the Director of Administration.
August 30th - schedule change for Route 15 - will not time check at WalMart at Valley View - but will proceed to Hoback & Ferncliff.
Route 11 will continue to time check at WalMart and current 12 route bus will no longer stop at Hersberger & Ferncliff
The Greater Roanoke Transit Company is a potential recipient of American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding upon completion of required grant applications and approval by designated grant authorities as follows:
Greater Roanoke Transit Company = $580,000 in grant funding via the urbanized area apportionment for transit operations through the public transit portion for the following: Shop Equipment $30,000; Purchase 6 Replacement Vans $360,000; Purchase ADP Software $100,000; Purchase Fare Collection Equipment (Fareboxes) $60,000; Purchase Support Vehicles $30,000 (Source: Commonwealth Transportation Board’s Recovery Act Transit Funding Report)
